Breet vs Quidax: Exchange Trading or Automatic Cash-Out?

Quidax and Breet are not really competing for the same task. Quidax is an exchange: you deposit, you trade or swap, then you initiate a withdrawal and wait, and Quidax asks you to allow 30 minutes to an hour for that. Breet removes the steps entirely, converting crypto on arrival and settling to your bank without you initiating anything. If you want to trade, Quidax is better equipped. If you want cash, Breet is faster.

As a crypto platform, part of our job is to understand what other providers are building. My team and I review public documentation, pricing, product flows, and the evidence we can verify. We give credit where it is due, and we state the limits we find. This comparison describes what we found during our review of Quidax, what it does well, where it may not fit, and who should consider it.

Note that we did create an account to test Quidax's response times, payout speed, support, uptime, and product behaviour.

Disclosure: Breet publishes this comparison and may benefit commercially if you choose Breet. If you find an error, contact partners@breet.io.

Head-to-head comparison

Quidax is built for people who want to trade: an order book with maker and taker pricing, over 50 assets, USDT staking, an OTC desk and a stablecoin API. Breet is built for people who want crypto turned into spendable local currency with zero manual steps, plus the ability to invoice clients in crypto. Both hold provisional or pending SEC status, and both serve multiple African markets.

Where Quidax wins

Regulatory standing. Quidax holds a provisional SEC Digital Assets Exchange licence from August 2024. Breet has a pending application to the same programme. They are ahead of Breet today.

Real exchange functionality. An order book with maker and taker pricing, an OTC desk, Launchpad, a stablecoin API and the Basqet payment gateway. If you want to place limit orders against a book, Breet cannot do that.

A yield product. USDT staking at 4.5% per annum on the flexible plan, per their help centre. Breet has no yield product at all.

Wider fiat coverage. NGN, GHS, XAF, XOF and KES against Breet's naira and cedis.

Where Quidax falls short

Speed and stability. Quidax's own help centre asks you to allow 30 minutes to an hour for a naira withdrawal. Since the 2025 platform rebuild, it has paused or removed P2P, domiciliary withdrawals, QDX staking, referrals, the sign-up bonus, username transfers and the deposit whitelist, and shipped none of the announced futures, margin or loan products.

Where Breet wins

Cash in minutes, not in an hour. Quidax asks you to allow up to an hour and guarantees nothing, while Breet lets you pay someone today rather than tomorrow.

Automatic settlement, so there is nothing to initiate. Crypto converts when it lands and cash moves to your bank on its own, which means no sell step and no withdrawal step to remember.

A USD wallet. You can hold value in dollars until the rate improves, which means you are never forced to take today's number. Quidax has domiciliary withdrawals paused.

Crypto cards and bill payments. You can spend on global merchants or settle airtime, data, and electricity straight from crypto.

Crypto gifting. You can send crypto to a first-time user, which means no walkthrough of addresses and networks.

Free multi-currency crypto invoicing. You send a client a real invoice, and the payment converts on arrival, letting freelancers get paid without pasting a wallet address into a chat.

Swap across 170+ assets with no countdown. Quidax quotes expire in 11 seconds and force a requote, which means Breet lets you move between coins without racing a timer.
