Breet vs Binance P2P: Automated Cash-Out or a P2P Platform That No Longer Exists?

This comparison is unusual because one side of it does not currently function for the thing most Nigerian users would come here looking for. Binance is a vastly larger global exchange than Breet. It is also unable to move naira into or out of a Nigerian bank account, because NGN was delisted from both spot trading and P2P in March 2024 and has not returned. Breet's entire product is built around exactly that job. This page explains both sides plainly.

As a crypto platform, part of our job is to understand what other providers are building. My team and I review public documentation, pricing, product flows, and the evidence we can verify. We give credit where it is due, and we state the limits we find. This comparison describes what we found during our review of Binance P2P, what it does well, where it may not fit, and who should consider it.

Note that we did create an account to test Binance P2P's response times, payout speed, support, uptime, and product behaviour.

Head-to-head comparison

Binance is a global exchange built for trading at scale. Breet is an Africa-focused automated off-ramp built for converting crypto into cash. For most of this table, the two platforms are not really comparable in size. For the one row that decides which platform actually solves a Nigerian user's problem: naira support, Breet works and Binance P2P does not.

Where Binance is ahead

Scale. Binance is one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world. Its coin selection, liquidity, and global payment method support are far beyond what Breet or any Nigeria-focused platform offers.

Where Binance falls short, specifically for Nigerian naira

This is the entire reason this comparison exists. Binance delisted NGN spot pairs and P2P trading in March 2024, force-converted remaining balances to USDT, and has not reinstated naira support since. A Nigerian user cannot fund or cash out in naira through Binance today. Layered on top of that, there’s no Nigerian SEC registration.

Where Breet wins

Naira actually works today. You send crypto, it converts, and cash reaches your Nigerian bank account or mobile money, without relying on a currency pair that could be delisted overnight the way NGN was on Binance.

No counterparty, no appeal to file. Conversion happens against Breet's own settlement rather than a stranger's bank transfer, which means there is no payment window to watch and no dispute process to enter.

Crypto invoicing and a USD wallet. You can bill a client in crypto or hold value in dollars until the rate improves, which means more of your workflow happens in one place instead of across a P2P chat and a separate bank transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I still use Binance to cash out crypto to naira?

No. NGN spot and P2P trading were delisted from Binance in March 2024 and have not been reinstated. Breet settles directly in naira today.

  • Is Breet safer than Binance P2P?

For naira cash-out specifically, Breet has a functioning product and a documented mechanism with no individual counterparty. Binance P2P for NGN does not currently work at all, and its P2P mechanism generally has been connected to a documented case of 1,146 frozen Nigerian bank accounts in 2024.

  • Why compare Breet to a service that doesn't work for Nigerians?

Because people still search for it, assuming Binance P2P is a live option for naira. It was, before March 2024. Anyone Googling "binance p2p nigeria" today needs to know that before choosing where to send their crypto.

  • Does Breet offer as many coins as Binance?

No. Binance's selection is far larger globally. Breet converts 12 coins directly to cash on its iOS listing plus TON and XRP on the sell page, with 170+ assets available for swapping.

  • Is Binance regulated in Nigeria?

No Nigerian SEC registration was found. Binance faces an active $79.5 billion civil suit and a separate tax evasion case with Nigerian authorities.
