Jeroid Review: Fees, Payout Speed, the Liability Cap, and a Coin That Never Fully Shipped

Jeroid is a Nigerian platform covering gift cards, crypto trading, bill payments, and an OTC desk for larger trades. Its published fee table is straightforward: a flat ₦100 on naira withdrawals. This review works through the fees, the features, and what's actually shipped.

As a crypto platform, part of our job is to understand what other providers are building. My team and I review public documentation, pricing, product flows, and the evidence we can verify. We give credit where it is due, and we state the limits we find. This review explains what we could confirm about Jeroid, what it does well, where it may not fit, and who should consider it.

Note that we did create an account to test Jeroid's response times, payout speed, support, uptime, and product behaviour.

Disclosure: Breet publishes this review and may benefit commercially if you choose Breet. We based it on public Jeroid product pages, website, app store reviews, legal pages, online reviews, support pages, and regulator information available as on 17 August 2026. Products, fees, and coverage can change. If you find an error, contact partners@breet.io.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • A published, straightforward fee table. A flat ₦100 on naira withdrawals, blockchain-rate crypto processing, and everything else stated as free.
  • A genuinely broad product set. Gift cards from 100+ brands across 20+ countries, crypto trading with a working swap feature, bill payments, and a one-on-one OTC desk for larger trades.
  • Seven years of continuous operation, with a named CEO and a leadership team listed publicly.

Cons

  • A low liability cap. Its Terms state Jeroid's liability to you is capped at the greater of three months' fees paid or ₦50,000, a low ceiling if something goes wrong with a larger transaction.
  • States directly it is not a licensed financial entity. Its own Terms say Jeroid is "not a bank, investment firm, or licensed financial adviser under applicable Nigerian law," with no SEC VASP registration claimed anywhere.
  • A coin listed in press coverage that isn't live. A July 2025 press release named Litecoin as a newly added asset. It doesn't appear in Jeroid's current, live supported-coin list.

How Breet compares to Jeroid

A rate shown before you confirm, on every transaction. Breet's fee is visible upfront for the specific transaction, not a flat withdrawal charge applied regardless of size.

Automatic settlement. Breet's automatic settlement lets you convert crypto to cash in your bank instantly once the on-chain confirmation is complete.

More coins supported. Breet supports 12+ coins when selling, and 170+ when swapping, so the coin you hold is more likely to be supported.

Crypto gifting. Breet allows your friends and family to gift you crypto and get the Naira or Cedis equivalent in your bank account or mobile money.

Free multi-currency crypto invoicing: Breet’s crypto invoice tool lets you receive crypto payments and settle in Naira or Cedis once the payment lands.

Where Jeroid is ahead

  • Gift card redemption at real scale, 100+ brands across 20+ countries, a feature Breet doesn't offer.
