Let’s talk about our Battle with TRON here at Breet.
For a long time, USDT on the TRON network was the go-to option for anyone sending USDT. Compared to Ethereum, it was faster and cheaper. But then something funny happened: TRON somehow got more expensive.
At one point, sending USDT on TRON cost up to 14 TRX (around $5). If you were sending to an address that had never received USDT, it could shoot up to 28 TRX. For many people, that defeated the very reason TRON was popular in the first place.
Now… within Breet, we had long conversations about this problem. Should we reduce support for TRON? Should we pass on those high costs? Should we even consider removing it entirely? But let’s be real, what kind of crypto company would we be without TRON?
And then, the timing couldn’t have been better. TRON recently approved a 60% network fee cut.
Now… sending TRON can be as low as 6 TRX.
This change came just as we were deep in conversations about bringing our TRON fees down. But we didn’t just stop at relying on the fee cut; we also integrated TRON’s energy and bandwidth management system. In simple terms: instead of spending TRX directly for every transaction, we now leverage network energy wherever possible.
The result?
- Lower TRON fees.
- Better rates for our users.
- A smoother experience that makes USDT on TRON feel like the bargain it was always meant to be.
At Breet, we’re obsessed with making crypto-to-fiat as seamless as possible. And part of that obsession means fighting for every kobo.
So yes, TRON is staying. And yes, it’s faster. But is it cheaper compared to Ethereum?
Hmmmmm maybe not yet. We shall see.
