We’ve always built Breet to be fast and easy. That’s the whole point. But sometimes, users don’t want to “open an app”, “enter a PIN” and “wait for a dashboard to load” just to check something quickly.

Most times, users just want quick answers:

  • “What’s my balance?”
  • “What’s the BTC rate right now?”
  • “Has my deposit been processed?”

And having to go through the full app flow for tiny checks started to feel like… too much wahala.

So we asked ourselves a simple question: How much easier can we make this?

One afternoon, after chowing some pap and akara, someone said:

“What if we put Breet where the users already are?”

Ehm… Where?

WhatsApp. And Telegram.

Perfect!

WhatsApp First? Or Telegram First?

We liked the idea immediately, but we also live in the real world. Building on WhatsApp comes with extra steps, approvals, templates, rules, reviews… Basically, WhatsApp comes with the entire United Nations of messaging restrictions.

But Telegram is clean. Simple. Developer-friendly.

And since we weren’t sure how users would adopt the idea yet, the plan became obvious:

Let’s build Telegram first.

If it goes well, we move to WhatsApp.

Makes sense.

So we built it.

  • We require an OTP via email for login and withdrawals.
  • You can revoke the bot access anytime from your Breet app (under Security Settings).
